New Family Organization Features: Buckets, Saved Organizations, and Conflict Detection
Announcing new features to help families manage healthcare appointments together. Create appointment buckets for each family member, save frequently-used organizations, and catch scheduling conflicts before they happen.
If you're managing healthcare appointments for your family, you know the challenge: whose appointment is this? Have we been to this doctor before? Does this overlap with Dad's cardiology visit?
We're excited to announce a set of features designed specifically for families and caregivers who juggle multiple people's medical appointments.
Appointment Buckets: Organize by Family Member
The most requested feature from our users has been a way to separate appointments by family member. We listened.
Appointment Buckets let you create customizable groups for organizing appointments. Create a bucket for "Kids," another for "Parents," and keep "Personal" for your own visits. Each bucket includes:
- A custom name you choose
- A color indicator (choose from 8 options) so you can visually distinguish appointments at a glance
- An icon that represents the bucket type (person, baby, heart, stethoscope, home, briefcase, or star)
When you create a new appointment, simply select which bucket it belongs to. The bucket selector appears automatically when you have more than one bucket set up.
A default "My Appointments" bucket is created for every new user, so you can start using this feature immediately.
Saved Organizations: Quick Access to Your Doctors
Tired of typing the same doctor's office information every time you schedule a follow-up? Saved Organizations remembers your frequently-used healthcare providers.
Save any organization with:
- Name and category (Primary Care, Specialist, Hospital, Lab, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, Mental Health, Urgent Care, or Other)
- Address for travel time calculations
- Phone number and website for quick reference
- Notes for things like "park in the back lot" or "bring referral"
You can save organizations directly from the appointment form or manage your full list at the Organizations page.
Saved Locations: Smarter Travel Times
Know exactly how long you need to get to your appointment with Saved Locations. Save your frequently-used departure points:
- Home address
- Work address
- Family member's address (helpful for caregivers)
- Any other location you regularly travel from
Set one location as your default, and travel time estimates appear automatically when you add appointments. No more guessing whether you need to leave at 2:00 or 2:30.
Conflict Detection: Catch Double-Bookings
We've all done it: scheduled two appointments at the same time without realizing. Our new Conflict Detection catches these issues before they become problems.
When you create an appointment that overlaps with an existing one, you'll see a clear warning. The system detects:
- Exact overlaps (same time slot)
- Partial overlaps (appointments that run into each other)
- Contained appointments (one fully within another's time range)
Sometimes overlaps are intentional. Maybe two family members have appointments at the same time in different locations. You can acknowledge the conflict and proceed. Your acknowledgement is saved with the appointment so you won't see the warning again.
Getting Started
These features are available now for all users. Here's how to start:
- Create your first bucket: Go to the Buckets page from the main menu and tap "Create Bucket"
- Save an organization: When adding your next appointment, tap "Save organization" after entering the provider details
- Add a departure location: Visit the Locations page and add your home address as the default

What's Next
We're building toward family sharing, where you'll be able to invite family members to view and manage appointments in shared buckets. The foundation is in place, and we're working on the invitation flow now.
